FrontAccounting enterprise resource planning system (ERP)
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a general name for any system which integrates all business processes and information into a single, multi-function system. An ERP system consists of a number of business applications (anywhere from 6-30 applications), which all communicate and coordinate with core financial applications and each other, by means of a cross-application control and configuration framework. Standard ERP applications include financials and accounting, order entry and invoicing, inventory, distribution, sales and marketing, purchasing, production and/or manufacturing. ERP systems generally include many other business applications to meet the needs of enterprises in target industries.
For small to medium businesses, we recommend the FrontAccounting business system. We have developed an automated interface between Virtuemart and FrontAccounting. This interface synchronises new customers, products, price changes, stock movements and orders between a VirtueMart online shop and a local or remote FrontAccounting business system. This interface also provides barcode printing, POS barcode scanning and POS sales docket printing for retail locations.
For larger enterprises and corporations, we also support the Apache OFBiz (aka Open for Business) ERP product. OFBiz is a full-scale enterprise resource planning system. It delivers an extensive set of integrated, common sense applications and services to support all key business operations. It is supported by a global open source development team, and a large of number of consulting and support companies. It is in production at a large number of customer sites.
